15,000 march in Helsinki for International Women’s Day

Thousands of people marched through central Helsinki on Sunday to mark International Women’s Day and call for stronger protection of women’s rights. Police estimated that up to 15,000 participants joined the demonstration, which began at Rautatientori at 14:00 and moved through the city centre before ending at Kansalaistori. The march formed one of the largest public events in the Finnish capital on Sunday.
