Major fire destroys Jokioinen Leipä bread factory

A fire destroyed the main bakery of Jokioinen Leipä bread factory in the municipality of Jokioinen in southern Finland early on Sunday morning. The blaze broke out shortly after 4.30am at the company’s factory on Leivänkuja. Flames spread through the structure and reached the roof. Rescue services fought the fire through the morning. Authorities said the building will be lost. The bakery stood empty at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported.
