New strike wave set for private care sector in Finland

2026-02-23 - 12:34

Finland’s private social services sector faces a new three-day strike in March after two major unions issued fresh notices amid a protracted pay dispute. The action will run from 10 to 12 March and follows a walkout last week that affected care homes in the north of the country. Talks under the national conciliator continue without a settlement. The Public and Welfare Sectors Union JHL announced on Monday its third strike notice in the ongoing dispute over a new collective agreement for the private social services sector. The stoppage will take place from 00.01 on 10 March until 23.59 on 12 March.
